Get File Size Extension - MozillaZine Forums

This shows how quickly extensions can get developed for Firefox. Requested a Get File Size Extension, much like the one from UNHSolutions and the same day, one was available for download. A new version came out the day after as well. As of version 1.1 (12th March) the following features were part of the extension:

  • File Size
  • Last Modified Date
  • Content type
  • HTTP Headers - default disabled, but enabled through extension options

Perhaps more features will be added (if people request them).

Code Generator

Very useful code generator - MyGeneration. It is written in .NET and so the Microsoft.NET framework is required (installer will detect if you have the Framework). Code is generated through templates and is done by combining VBScript (or JScript) with a database that you specify (as of version 0.98b this includes MS SQL, Oracle, IBM DB2, MySQL and Access) - several templates are provided (i.e. scripts that generate SQL Server stored procedures). It will probably end up with more features as it is developed and so can only improve in functionality.
